Logitech portable speakers are designed with the Logitech name S715i is not just the shape alone is fierce. It was the most prominent is the ability of Bass and the high voice that makes us curious.
Therefore, we waited with a feeling not wait to try it after this speaker through the process of burn-in for 100 hours.
When play songs mp3 with 320 kbps bit rate, the speaker is indeed victorious. All Bass who pitched sound of thunder and can be performed with good vocals. In fact, the resulting sound reproduction these speakers would be better if the running track with many shades of Bass. Bass is very good bang is the result of driver-owned Bass and Subwoofer speakers. Size large enough drivers would give a lot of donations for a solid bass sound reproduction is.
These speakers are designed basically to listen to songs from the iPod and iPhone anywhere and with a large volume. So, the size and weight are also adapted to function as a portable speaker is. On top of these
speakers, you can find a dock to plug in your iPod and iPhone. Docking was covered with trim to enhance the speaker when it was taken. To use the docking, you must open the lid that can also be used to keep the
speakers in a standing position.
Then, what about users who do not have the iPod and iPhone? At the rear speakers, you can find two hidden jack with rubber cover. Jack is useful to connect the adapter and a 3.5mm audio jack. So, you can use
the MP3 player’s pet that the output is a 3.5mm jack (almost all music players use these connectors.) While the adapter is useful for charging a battery that is in the speakers. You can enjoy music from the speakers without being connected to the adapter about 8 hours.
Design
The S715i, which measures 5.2 by 15.2 by 2.4 inches (HWD) and weighs 1.5 pounds, comes in matte black plastic, with a slim, subtly curved contour reminiscent of a sports car. The six front-facing drivers a
tweeter, midrange driver, and woofer for each channel are protected by a transparent black metallic grille. The docking area sits centered on the top of the system, flanked by a tiny LED and three buttons Volume
Up/Down and Power. (There is a button-shaped piece of plastic below the Power button, but it’s actually just a design flourish added for symmetry.)
Power adapter and 3.5mm Aux inputs live on the back panel, as does a kickstand that angles the speakers upward ideal for desktop listening.
Two more mid-range drivers are angled in the exact opposite direction.
This move is a bit of a gimmick, likely to make it seem as though the S715i has more power than it does, but it does nothing to degrade the sound, so we won’t get too picky about it. A protective cloth sleeve for the dock, as well as a remote control and a power adapter, come bundled in the box.
The remote control is, well, a weak spot for the system. First of all, it’s tiny and too easy to lose. Secondly, it lacks what at this point should be standard on all dock remotes: full iPod menu navigation.
Instead of being able to switch menus or select new artists remotely, you have to walk up to your docked iPod or iPhone the S715i is certified for both and do all that on the device itself. The remote only controls Volume, playback mode (Shuffle or Repeat can be enabled or disabled), skipping forward or backward on tracks, Play/Pause, and Power.
Depending on how much battery life is left on the S715i, the little LED on top glows different colors: green means greater than 40 percent remains (or that the power adapter is connected), orange shows between
5 and 40 percent, and red means you’re below 5 percent. Logitech rates the rechargeable battery’s playback time at eight hours.
Performance
Most small travel speaker docks sound horrible. It’s a constant trade-off make a speaker small so that it’s easy to pack, and you sacrifice its ability to reproduce mid-to-low frequency with accuracy, power, or grace. Logitech attempts to solve this conundrum by making the S715i more portable than small. It’s over a foot long, larger than plenty of travel docks, but because of its narrow and streamlined design, it fits easily within a suitcase or even a carry-on bag.
Because the S715i doesn’t completely skimp on size, it has room for some quality drivers.
Distortion, however, is par for the course with portable docks. If you’re looking for a unit that you can blast without distortion, and take with you anywhere, both the aforementioned Harman Kardon Go + Play and the Altec Lansing Mix iMT800 ($299.99, ) are excellent-sounding options just don’t say I didn’t warn you about the
manufacturers’ peculiar use of the word “portable.” The Logitech S715i finds a clever middle ground on the sound/portability spectrum: it’s reasonably sized, and sounds great at the levels most commonly used in
portable scenarios. Particularly given the $150 price, it’s too bad the remote control is so anemic, or we’d have a true winner on our hands. That said, the S715i should still suit most of your travel audio needs just fine.
For mainstream users, the speaker is able to satisfy the need for a solid music reproduction. However, what about the listener who is more concerned with sound with high quality and at the same time using a music source that has a higher quality (such as from a CD, Lossless file formats, and Blu-ray)? To see the highest capability of these speakers, the sound test that can demonstrate the ability of speakers from various aspects, such as voice depth, detail, clarity of voice, and focus the sound.
Overall, the quality of these speakers when faced with high quality sound is still within reasonable limits. Bass sound is energetic, clear high voice and detailed sound good enough to be excess of this speaker. Plus additional fittings are included in the sales package, such as remote control to control the songs from the iPod and iPhone, the connector legs two and three feet that can be exchanged at will on the adapter, and a cloth bag with two compartments (adapter and speakers separately) to bring this speaker everywhere making this speaker deserves to be a friend to enjoy favorite songs.
