Ads are displayed on right sidebar of Gmail so, instead why not utilize that space with something informative. Rapportive is addon which shows Sender’s Bio, Social Media Updates and Links, Live Tweets and more!
It is completely interesting addon which can fetch information about the contact (sender) using Email ID and makes the Gmail interface look more informative and attractive.
We have already seen how to display Display Picture of Contact in gmail but Rapportive adds Rich Profile with complete information.
By default, just Google Contacts information is shown and then you may Link your Facebook, LinkedIn and other Social Network’s accounts to fetch more information about particular contact.
Now, you may be worrying about Security Concern but let me tell you that you are not giving away Gmail login details to this addon and it uses secured Google Federation Login and Open ID system to integrate Social Media accounts.
