I don’t really know if I should be telling you much about the start-up called Snaptu, but in-case you don’t know what it is, the following will help you catch up. Snaptu is a free mobile application, runs on virtually any Java capable mobile and brings to the user apps like Twitter, Facebook, Flickr and much more. It was created in 2007 by an Israeli based group to provide normal and feature phones access to applications that normally are available on Smartphones. Recently though, Facebook decided to take over Snaptu and use it’s resources to further conquer, expand it’s territory to every mobile user and mobile part of the world. Snaptu did not seem to have any thing against Facebook and went on with the whole procedure, they found it exciting. Facebook reportedly paid about $70 million to acquire Snaptu and the deal will be completed in the weeks to come.
Looks like Facebook is trying everything in their power to dominate the world and truly connect every individual through it’s social network. Acquisition of Snaptu is another move to make Facebook available even on the most basic of mobile devices that can run Java apps. Facebook has very much dominated the world wide web, now it’s focusing on dominating every human being with a mobile device.Snaptu blogged about this and stated:
