For security and privacy reasons, it's not good to leave a trail behind you as you browse (especially if you’re using a shared computer).
Firefox lets you erase your browsing and download history, clear your cache and delete your cookies in a single click.
For Mozilla Firefox Follow these steps
- Just go to Tools → Clear Recent History… to make it happen. Or, to be extra careful, go to Edit → Preferences → Privacy and select the "Always clear my private data when I close Firefox" option.
- Click on Tools in your Opera menu located at the top of your screen.
- When the drop-down menu appears, scroll down and click on the Delete private data
- A dialog window labeled Delete private data will now be displayed, overlaying your browser window. The warning message in this window informs you that all open tabs will be closed and all ongoing file transfers will be interrupted once the deletion process has begun.Click on the button labeled Details >>.
- Check all the boxes and click on delete.
For Internet Explorer
- Click the Tools button in the Internet Explorer toolbar.
- Select Delete Browsing History... from the menu.
- Click Delete All....
- As an alternative, you can choose to delete Temporary Internet Files(the browser cache), Cookies, Form Data or Passwords selectively using their respective buttons.
- Click Yes.
- Close all Internet Explorer windows.
- Click on the Chrome "wrench" icon, located in the upper right hand corner of your browser window. When the drop-down menu appears, select the choice labeled Clear browsing data.Choose required check boxes and click on "clear browsing data"
